On May 30th, 2019, we got a call about a pig found stuck in a septic tank in Hubert, North Carolina!

We immediately hitched up the trailer and rushed to help. By the time we arrived, the neighbors had already pulled Hank out using a truck — and we found him fast asleep in their front flower bed. A very exhausted, very STINKY, and absolutely massive boy.
Hank got up, stretched, and walked right into the trailer like we were late picking him up
— and he’s been here at Sisu, managing all piggy affairs, ever since!

He may look like a grizzly bear, but he’s really a giant love bug. Hank is not only cool, confident, and devilishly handsome… he’s also a total family man.
He stepped in to help Mama raise her ten piglets and is always the first to show five-pound babies around the property like a proud grandpa pig.

He’ll take anyone under his wing — but don’t mistake his kindness for weakness. There are a lot of younger, stronger pigs here at Sisu, but no one would dream of challenging Hank. He raised most of the Hurricane Boys and turned them all into piggentleman! His quiet leadership, gentle presence, and unmatched patience have earned him everyone’s respect.

Those are literally the three best words to describe Hank. Leader. Patient. Gentle.
