Private Tours at Sisu Refuge

Sisu Refuge offers a limited number of private, scheduled tours for individuals and small groups who would like a deeper, more personal experience at the sanctuary. All proceeds from tours go directly toward caring for our residents.

Private tours help support the lifelong care of our residents while allowing us to share our work in a way that prioritizes animal wellbeing, safety, and staff capacity.

All visits must be scheduled in advance. Drop-in visits are not permitted.

Private Sanctuary Tour

$250 Minimum Donation · 3 hours · Up to 4 people

This guided tour offers a thoughtful, behind-the-scenes look at life at Sisu Refuge.

During your visit, you’ll:

  • Meet many of our resident animals

  • Learn about their individual stories and daily care

  • Gain insight into what it takes to operate a lifetime animal sanctuary

  • Ask questions and explore the sanctuary at a relaxed pace

This option is ideal for supporters, families, or small groups seeking a meaningful visit without the structure of a public event.

Founder’s Tour with Joseph

$500 Minimum Donation · 5 hours · Up to 4 people

The Founder’s Tour is a more immersive experience led by Joseph, co-founder of Sisu Refuge.

This extended visit includes:

  • An in-depth walking tour of the sanctuary and property

  • Candid conversation about rescue work, sanctuary operations, and long-term care

  • Insight into infrastructure, animal management, and decision-making behind the scenes

  • Time to connect, ask deeper questions, and understand the realities of running a large-scale sanctuary

This tour is best suited for:

  • Long-time supporters

  • Fellow rescuers or advocates

  • Individuals interested in starting or supporting sanctuary work
