Sisu Refuge is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal sanctuary specializing in urgent rescue, advanced medical treatments, and end-of-life hospice care for rescued farmed animals - particularly large-breed pigs rescued from commercial farming operations, criminal cruelty cases, hoarding, and natural disasters.

Our mission at Sisu is twofold: to provide an exceptional quality of life for each animal in our care, and to inspire people to make choices that reduce harm and suffering - for animals, people, and the planet.
Through powerful storytelling, we share each animal’s journey - highlighting their individuality, intelligence, and lived experience - to foster empathy, challenge cultural norms, and allow the animals themselves to advocate for change. Our online community of more than 780,000 supporters follows these stories in real time, forming deep connections with the residents in our care. They are part of Sisu and power our ability to rescue!
Farmed animals are among the most abused and exploited beings on earth, and we exist to ensure that those who need compassion the most are never abandoned.
