Sisu Refuge is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal sanctuary specializing in urgent rescue, advanced medical treatments, and end-of-life care for rescued farmed animals - particularly large-breed pigs rescued from commercial farming operations, criminal cruelty cases, hoarding, and natural disasters.
Founded in February 2019, Sisu Refuge has directly rescued over 1,000 animals and has provided critical placement support and emergency coordination for countless others. Through immersive online storytelling and educational outreach, we have reached over 100 million people worldwide - connecting individuals to the real lives behind the labels of “farmed animals” and inspiring tangible shifts toward compassionate lifestyle choices.
In addition to rescue and care, we open our gates to the public to foster meaningful human-animal connections, believing that true systems change begins with empathy, education, and proximity.
